me again!!!!

Kenny got sick from bad sushi at the hotel (where we've been for 4 weeks now), so i'm taking time to plan our next adventure. (Thanks to all who suggested Metropole Hotel, it's almost as good as the Hilton! they have these weird shutter-things on the windows, though...)

Well, I think we've been in Vietnam long enough - 8 weeks now. (I'm sick of this pool, already!) Where should we go next? is Thailand a cool place to go?
Kenny said he wants to experience more "real" asia. I told him there really wasn't anything to do outside where we are staying. So, i finally agreed to go to a different country.

Is there a Hilton somewhere in Thailand? Is Thailand food as good as the food here? (Kenny really likes the baked chicken...i like the sushi.)

A traveller is someone who requires places like this to get their info as they are normally travelling on a budget which requires the likes and knowledge of those found here - A tourist can get their information from a travel agent - (the word "real" is a bit pretentious mr/miss no name)

Frankly, I don't see how anybody can experience the "real" Asia staying in Hiltons or the like. You might as well stay home.

Gee, I'm glad I stayed at the Sheraton last weekend. Now nobody can criticise me.

BTW I couldn't give a flying fuck about being a sex_traveller or a sex_tourist.

Buffy, Bangkok is marvelous. I forget which one, but some hotel will fly you by helicopter from the airport. That way you can quite literally look down on poor people. Another thing you might like to try is renting a BMW, getting blind drunk and then tearing round the expressways at 3am.

Funny you should ask about Kenny's dreads, Mr. Humpty!! Well, since the hotel fire (at the Hilton) burned off the left side, i thought Daddy would let i go. But Mom left some photos with his secretary that showed Kenny's right side (in front of the salad bar). Boy was HE mad!! i mean, after we promised....(Of course,i'm sure the $14,000 visa bill didn't help...)

Anyway, i assured him that, you know, with the wedding and all coming up, I'd get it squared away. Do they have barbers in Thailand?

You are refering to The Oriental. Cost about $250US for the chopper. I feel really bad though, as I wasnt experiencing 'real' asia and should have just stayed home.

The Traveler/tourist row was started by Tony Wheeler in his early books when he criticised "Big Hotel Tourists" and sterotyped backpackers as travelers so all the backpackers ran around the world slagging off innocent seniors on holiday.
Later, Tony modified his stance and pointed out that a backpacker staying at a backpacker accomadation with other backpackers,traveling on a backpacker bus and going on a backpacker trek was really no different than the tourists some backpackers so grandly mocked.


But... Have fun none the less.... Thai food is great!

having a GREAT time in the land of SMILEY SMILES!!!

it was a rough trip from the airport - our cab got suck in traffic for 2 HOURS!! I told the driver to take another route, but he had some weird look on his face. Kenny told me maybe it would be better if i didn't say anything.
I told Kenny it didn't matter, the driver couldn't speak English anyway. So i just said some things Daddy once said to the guy he found in the bedroom with Mommy.

Anyway, we FINALLY got there! (Travelling in Asia is ROUGH!!)

The Royal Orchid Sheraton, where we are staying, is almost as good as the Hanoi Opera Hilton, but they don't have the same sushi. I left my walkman by the pool, and I saw one of the hotel clerks with it - boy, did I LET HIM HAVEIT!! well, I mean, he wasn't actually WEARING it - he says he was holding it for me till I came back down - but I don't believe him. You know how these people are in these third-world countries...

Kenny went out last night to buy toothpaste - he didn't come back till 3 IN THE MORNING!! (can you believe
how hard it is to get toothpaste here?!) For some reason, there were soap wrappers that said "Nana Hotel" in his pocket, and he seemed a little - well, like he'd had a few drinks - but he said he was just tired from walking so far for the toothpaste. He seemed really happy, though - must've been a cultural experience!

(hey girls - for some reason, kenny doesn't seem as interested in - well, YOU KNOW WHAT - with me...do you think it's because bangkok is so - RELIGIOUS?)

Anyway, the beef teriyaki here is great! (I think thai food might even be better than Vietnam food!)

HI ALL! : ) ME HERE AGAIN!: ) : ) : )

Well, it's been a whole month almost since i posted here last. Having such a fantastic time here in Bangkok @ the Sheraton. The pool here is tops! I have SUCH a great tan now...(poor kenny - he fell asleep by the pool 2 weeks ago and got all red - the locals at the hotel really laughed at him...!)

we went to a REAL "WHAT" tower the other day! it had all these cool ceramics pasted to the outside. I think i'm going to show Mom how to do that - maybe we can make one in the backyard...

Oh...did i tell you?...kenny shaved his head!! just in time - daddy's credit card was declined, and he said he wasn't going to pay any more till i sent him a photo showing that kenny really cut his hair. Well, it just happened that we were at this ceramic What tower place, and kenny saw one of the monks in the orange dresses with a shaved head... he goes, "hey buff, you think i'd be chill like that?"
So, we went up to the monk and tried to explain that kenny wanted to look like him, to see where he got his head shaved. this cute little man took us down all these long alleyways painted yellow, and finally we met this old man who looked real mean. they kept talking in Thailandesian, so we didn't know what they were saying. Then, several of them came out and motioned for kenny to follow, and they made me stay behind.
Well, about 20 minutes later, kenny comes running out really fast wearing one of those orange dresses, with his head shaved, and the monks are running after him! Kenny grabs me, and throws me in a taxi...it was really crazy!

Turns out, they must of thought kenny wanted to be a real monk! it was really cool, though, back at the hotel, 'cause all these people working there kept giving these cute little bows to him - !

Anyway, that was enough adventure for one month - we decided we better enjoy thailand from the hotel pool. But, at least now i have a really cute boyfriend with a shiny shaved head! (not to mention, daddy agreed to pay the hotel tab...although, he did ask about the orange dress...)

well, that's all for now! Food here is still great, although kenny doesn't like the chicken as much as hanoi... but he still likes the french fries.

Kenny says it would be cool for me to have my letters on a foreign website, since I'm studying foreign diplomacy. and since I'm planning on becoming a famous American woman diplomat, you can be the first publisher of my travel journals! (I can't tell Daddy, though, he'll make me try to get you to pay me - he's a
big lawyer in the television industry).

HI GANG!

You won't believe it, but guess what happened to us NOW? Kenny fell asleep in the bath tub, with the water running, and the WHOLE FLOOR got flooded! I came up from the pool, like i always do, at 1 o'clock, and
there was water running all down the hallway - I opened the door and my FAVORITE sarong was floating around in about 4 inches of water! I yelled "KENNY!", and I just heard him go, "huh, wassup? - oh, man...", and he crawls out of the tub like he'd just woken up -then he falls down and splashes EVERYWHERE! Next thing I know, about 10 hotel boys are running in the room screaming something in Thailandese, then, when they see kenny without any clothes on, they all go running out again - just like a movie I saw once! I had to tell Kenny to turn the water off, cause he didn't seem to figure out that's what happened. Kenny has the worst luck. Stuff just seems to happen to him. i think it's because he's a creative-genius type.

Anyway, we had to leave the Sheraton, and now we're staying at the Grand Hyatt Airwand. It' Ok, the pool's not as big, but it's right in the middle of a shopping center - (I guess God wanted me to go shopping...! ; ) )

Someone told me there's a place called the Airwand Ghost House, or Spirit House, or something like that here, but I've been a little afraid to find it...

But NOW I'm really worried - it turns out that Daddy's coming day-after-tomorrow because of some lawsuit
about the Swiss Family Robinson thing - one of his TV people was filming it in Crabby and Shanghai. Something about elephants trampling over some local huts that were very special to the Thailandese people.
He hasn't gotten the $25,000 bill yet from the Sheraton -(they say we did all that damage, but you now how poorly constructed things are in third world countries! A little bit of water NO WAY could do that! )Anyway, maybe it's a good thing, now that i think about it, that Daddy's coming before the bill arrives...

Daddy promised i could play one of the natives on TV if they had to do any re-shoots. I told him I've been practicing real hard by studying the hotel maids.

so, anyway, I'm not going to worry too much about the Sheraton bill - I'm just going to go with Daddy to Crabby - (I think Kenny and i need a little break) - and make him REAL HAPPY! I still have that special swimsuit he bought for me that he says makes me look just like a Special Little Lady. Maybe Kenny can finish his first book of poetry when I'm gone - (he's SO talented.!)

HI ALL!

just a quick note to let everyone know what a GREAT TIME I'm having in Krabby! (thanks, "T-lips.", for telling me it's "K" not "C" - silly me!!)

I'm staying in this cool little Native style hut at the Ryavdee Resort - they have these cute little roofs like turtle shells. The Thailandese really know how to live - I have a jacuzzi right outside and my own little swimming pool!! Someone told me the beach is real nice, too, but - why bother?!!! ; )

Daddy had to go to Fookett to meet with the TV people there - he has to tell them to be nice to the local Thailandese people, who are still mad about the elephant thing. (Can't they just ... GET OVER IT? They should be proud to have a real TV show made in their village!!)

So, anyway, I'm sort of all alone here now... well, sort of... I met this fellow traveller named Greg - he's a registered nurse (isn't that sweet?). We've been having the BEST time! He says he wants me to go with him to the rest of Thailand, to keep him company. I didn't tell him yet about Kenny, but it's OK, because Greg just wants to have a SPECIAL friendship. Last night, we stayed together, but it was OK, he is so nice, he would never try anything. I might go with him to Fookett, because he really is very lonely. I don't think I'll tell Kenny. (It's OK, Kenny and are soul-mates - we are bound by Fate.)

I wonder how kenny is doing, but i know he'll be fine with his poetry - (i can't wait to read his new book!)

Anyway, I'm supposed to register for classes again back home in about 3 weeks, but I'm learning so much about the CULTURE here, I'm going to try and get credit and stay here thru the fall.

Anyone knows anything about about Kenny, please drop me a line - (and be NICE to him, he's very sensitive!)

HELP ME PLEASE!!

I just returned from Krabby and tried to get in my room at the Grand Hyatt, but they told me it wasn't my room anymore!! I told them it had to be because Kenny was in there! They said he left about 5 days ago - then they started playing with my head and teling me they had to charge $870 extra because Kenny messed up the room - something about the bed being chained to the wall and tubes of sunscreen spilled everywhere -(can you believe they would actually make up such stuff?!!)

I called Daddy's secretary, and she said she stopped payment on the charge because she thought Kenny and I were with daddy in Krabby - Daddy thought Greg was Kenny! Can you believe that?! Greg turned out to be SUCH a WEIRDO!! I came back to the hut one day, and he was all dressed up in his white nurse's uniform with ALL MY UNDERWEAR spread all over the room - then he asked me to watch him - (well, you know...!!!) i can't believe I thought he was so sweet! (and to think Daddy thought he was Kenny...)

But now I have to find KENNY!! He's so sensitive and, you know, like a little boy - he might not be able to make it in Bangkok - I'm worried something BAD might happen to him!

HAS ANYONE SEEN KENNY???? He's 21 y.o, has really short hair - just starting to grow back - with a small blotch on one side where hair won't grow (since the fire..) - he has 3 earrings in his right ear and a little one on his lip. sometimes he wears an orange vest he cut up from a monk's dress - and he's really quiet.

PLEASE HELP ME FIND KENNY!
